Historian

A Dutch architecture critic based in Montreal, he is the former editor and publisher of A10 new European architecture, which he founded in 2004 with graphic designer Arjan Groot. 

Since 2014, he has been teaching at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto. In addition, he is the publisher of The Architecture Observer and, together with Nanne de Ru, co-publisher of Maas Lawrence. He is the author of a number of books, including Modern Architecture: A Planetary Warming History (2023).
