Application period open for the general subsidy call for 2024

This year’s subsidy budget has increased by 6.1%, with a total of 22.5 million euros available for projects, activities and services at a city or district level, in 25 different spheres and 106 programmes.

The call is open until 25 January. Applications must be submitted online, as with previous editions.

Last year’s call attracted a total of 5,891 applications, 60% of them at a city level and 40% at a district level, with around 80% coming from associations.

Proposed activities must foster public or social interests, for purposes such as, for example, improving social cohesion and inclusion, tackling the climate emergency, promoting the values of respectful behaviour and coexistence. A new aim added this year is the promotion of the growth of sporting practice and the sports network as a key element in people’s quality of life.

This is the broadest annual subsidy call by the City Council. As many as twenty municipal evaluation commissions are involved and should issue provisional resolutions in May, ahead of final resolutions in July, the aim being for payments to be made from the second half of the year.
