Xavier Mayor Farguell
Biologist
He holds a PhD in Biology, a Master’s Degree in Ecology and Plant Biology and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology and Management.
An expert in ecology applied to land use and sustainability, he has held the positions of researcher at the Centre de Recerca Ecològica i Aplicacions Forestals (CREAF) [Ecological and Forestry Applications Research Centre] and a biologist at the Government of Catalonia’s Natural Environment Planning Service. In 1999, he set up Irbis, a professional studio specialising in ecology applied to urban planning, land use and sustainability. His work includes Canòpia Urbana, winner of the Competition for the Open Space Urban Design in Barcelona’s Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes.
