PhD in Social Psychology
Sara Berbel holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Barcelona, having lectured as an associate professor at the UB and a postgraduate professor. The numerous positions she has held include municipal director at Barcelona City Council since 2019, managing director of Barcelona Activa since 2016 and director of Economic Policy and Local Development at Barcelona City Council. She has also been the president of the BCN Vocational and Education Training Foundation since 2018.
Previous positions include director general for Equal Opportunities in the Department of Employment at the Government of Catalonia, president of the Catalan Women’s Institute and director of the Social Economy and Equality Policy Network at Barcelona City Council. She has published several books, including Directivas y empresarias. Mujeres rompiendo el techo de cristal [Female Directors and Businesswomen. Women Breaking the Glass Ceiling] (Aresta, 2013) and Imbatibles. La edad de las mujeres [Unbeatable. The Age of Women] (co-author; Calambur, 2019).
