Urban planning expert
Director of the Master’s in Urban Design and professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Berkeley, California, she holds a Degree in History of Architecture, Housing and Urban Planning.
She chaired the History, Theory and Humanities programme at SCI-Arc in Los Angeles and served as a professor of Planning Theory and Urban Design at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard. Her academic work encompasses several books, including two editions of Everyday Urbanism, along with numerous articles and chapters focusing on public space and building in the United States. Notably, she recently co-edited Critical Texts in Chinese Urbanization, a four-volume collection examining urban development in China.
