The voice of medicine

The Residence for Researchers proposes a series of lectures on the most significant biomedical advances that have been made in recent years.

During the twentieth century there has been a scientific progress as never before seen in the history of mankind. In the field of biomedicine, the main objective of the research was to increase life expectancy and quality of life of human beings, which has largely been met, as life expectancy at birth was 47.3 years in 1900, while in 2008 it was 81.7 years. An increase has been due not only to biomedical research, but also to other political factors and socioeconomic (nutrition, health, housing and public health measures).

All lectures will be held in the Sala d'Actes of the Residence of Reserchers (C / Hospital 64, Barcelona) and will start at 6.30 pm.
