'A vista d'hotel': ten days full of activities on the rooftop terraces of Barcelona's hotels

73 establishments are taking part in the 7th edition of this initiative, which will run from 2 to 11 June.

Long days, intense heat – now is when you feel more like spending time in the evenings outdoor, eating some tapas and having a drink. Add to that live music, dancing, culinary workshops and family-oriented activities and you have the perfect recipe for early summer happiness. That's certainly true for the growing number of people who take advantage of the initiative Barcelona Hotel Roofop Terrace Week, which is also known as A vista d'hotel, and is now celebrating its 7th annual edition with a record number of 73 participating hotels.

The idea was born as a way of breaking the ice between hotels and citizens since Barcelona is full of hotels but most residents rarely step inside them, let alone their rooftop terraces. This year, the participating hotels will be opening up their rooftops to the general public from 2 to 11 June while putting on over 250 activities.

Evenings on these terraces will be accompanied by live music in styles ranging from DJ sessions to jazz, rock, pop, soul and singer-songwriter music. So if you love dancing, you're assured of finding the right rhythms to get you moving – and with the whole city at your feet. There will also be sessions of magic and cinema and photography fans will be in the running for prizes if they publish their snapshots on the Setmana de les Terrasses Instagram page.

A vista d'hotel is organised by the Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona, is sponsored by Cellers Torres, and received support from Barcelona City Council. To find out more about what's on, click on this link
