Teatre Goya premieres 'The Price' by Arthur Miller, in a Catalan language version directed by Sílvia Munt

The play will run from 28 June to 7 August

Arthur Miller’s play The Price has everything going for it to become one of the hits of the summer season in Barcelona. It was written by Arthur Miller, one of the best-known playwrights of the 20th century – this year marks the centenary of his birth – and it features some of the top actors on the Catalan theatre scene (Pere Arquillué, Ramon Madaula, Lluís Marco and Rosa Renom), who will be directed by Sílvia Munt. The play will premiere on 28 June at Teatre Goya, and is scheduled to run until 7 August.

In the play, a policeman who is about to retire and his wife arrange a meeting with his brother in the house where they both grew up. The building is going to be demolished and when going through their old things plenty of memories are brought back, together with old resentments and the ghosts of the past. The play is, above all, a reflection on the price we pay for our decisions and how they change our lives.

The Price is a production by Grec 2016 Festival de Barcelona and Bitò Produccions
