The Sala Ciutat offers a reflection on the “Barcelona brand name Universe”

The exhibition, which opens on the 26th of March, includes photographs, models, prototypes and wide-ranging ideas that have been provided by anyone with a desire to participate

The exhibition Univers marca Barcelona (Barcelona brand name Universe) is, in effect, an effort to approach the essential nature of the city through a sensorial, experience-based expression of its values. “What is your overall feeling about the city?”, “What does Barcelona inspire in you?” – These are the fundamental questions that have prompted the collection of materials that will be on display in the Sala Ciutat from the 26th of March to the 26th of June.

The exhibition has been made possible through the participation of a number of players, including creativity centres, design schools, architects, writers, photographers, designers and researchers, all of whom have expressed a desire to participate by providing images, experiences, and even textures, via email or via Pinterest, a desire that led to the creation of one of the parts of the exhibition, the so-named ‘mood board’, a platform for collective experience.

The exhibition, then, is a compilation of photographs, models, prototypes, designs and ideas designed to reveal the essential characteristics of the city: its commitment to sustainable tourism, its century-old traditions, its inherently creative nature and its importance as a centre for  technology and innovation.
