Round About Midnight – a new series of concerts

Stacey Kent inaugurates a programme of intimate evening concerts in the Teatro Coliseum up until the 19th of December

On Friday the 8th of December, North American singer Stacey Kent will perform a one-off concert in the Teatre Coliseum as part of a series of sessions entitled Round around Midnight, a series of intimate performances in cabaret format featuring established artists. As the title of the series suggests, the performances will begin around midnight.

While Stacey Kent has focussed on jazz up until now, in her latest recording, The Changing Lights, she ventures into Brazilian rhythms, infusing her voice with bossa nova-style feeling and invoking the spirit of singers such as Jobim, Sergio Mendes and Luís Bonfa.

The series will also include artists whose music embraces other rhythms, such as Chuchito Valdés (15/11), La Farruca (21/11), Simone (22/11), Karime Amaya (28/11), Susana Baca (29/11), Sandra Carrasco & Javier Colina Quartet (5/12), Mayra Andrade (6/12), Alberto Cortez (13/12) and Zap Mama (19/12).
