Retrobarcelona: the nostalgia for classic videogames
This classic videogame fair is set to celebrate its 4th edition from 6 to 9 October
Nostalgia is more fashionable than ever and the 1980s and 1990s are a source of inspiration for new trends and revivals. One of the key icons from that period are classic videogames, which are now back again but this time as cult items. And if you want to try your hand at old-fashioned consoles and games, the best place to do it is at Retrobarcelona, the classic and vintage videogame fair that is scheduled to take place at Fira de Barcelona as part of Barcelona GamesWorld, from 6 to 9 October.
Visitors to the fair will find talks, exhibitions, a market and a large gaming area with a wide selection of classic period videogames from the golden era of home consoles. And the fair will also feature tournaments and an area devoted to e-sports. Related areas, including robotics and manga will also be represented.
Among the initiatives that are set to continue from last year is Videogames for Food, which last year managed to collect 6 tons of non-perishable foodstuff for Food Banks.
