Presentation of the new director of the Picasso Museum of Barcelona

Next Friday, July 15​, at 11.30 h, in Saló de la Ciutat de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona (access through Sant Miquel square), will be presented to the media the new director of the Picasso Museum of Barcelona.

The event will be attended by Jaume Collboni, Deputy Mayor of Business, Culture and Innovation of Ajuntament de Barcelona, and Emmanuel Guigon, the new director.

Emmanuel Guigon, born in 1960, was proposed as the new director by a Commission of experts last Wednesday, 22 June, once analyzed and evaluated the 13 nominations.

He is doctor in the history of contemporary art by Sorbone University (France) and he is is a specialist in historical avant-gardes and in European art of post-war. Before being named director dof the Picasso Museum of Barcelona, he was director delegate responsible of the museums of the French city of Besançon. He has also been conservative responsible of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Strasbourg (France) and the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM).
