"Destinació BCN. Història del turisme a la ciutat" has been co-edited by the City Council of Barcelona and Editorial Efadòs. It is a selection of texts that explain in which way and for that reasons Barcelona became a tourist destination of international value, since the end of the 19th century to the present day.

These texts, result of the Conference with the same title that organized the Historical Archive of the City of Barcelona the autumn of 2014, provides a panoramic and transversal view of the construction of Barcelona as a tourist destination over the last century. Along the 280 pages of the book and with abundant images that illustrate and complement to the texts, speaks of policies, rhetoric and strategies, of major events and urban reforms, of hotels and pensions, of Heritage invented and retrieved, of images, marks, of maps, guides and posters, of tourists and voyagers, of the Gótico, the Chino and the Barceloneta. After all, it speaks about the happy Barcelona and simultaneously critical with the tourism, about the dreamed city and the real city.
