Poliédre – Polyhedral Barcelona

The new platform for Barcelona’s immigrant artists celebrates the first edition of the Vèrtex BCN Festival on the 24th and 25th of January

Poliédre is a platform of artists who are resident in Barcelona but who either hail from other countries or whose cultural backgrounds differ from our own. The project encompasses artists from a variety of disciplines and the objective is to disseminate their creative output through a programme of activities.

The platform includes literature, music, video art, theatre, street art, film, multi-disciplinary arts, dance, visual arts, performance, net art and photography and at present consists of artists from Morocco, Italy, Greece, Russia, Colombia, Cuba, Kurdistan, Scotland and Brazil, among others. The objective of the platform is to foment the visibility of these artists through three main channels: a website in the form of a catalogue, periodical meetings of the platform members and finally, through a programme of activities.

The first these Poliédre activities is the Vèrtex BCN Festival, which will take place on the 24th and 25th of January in the Casal el Pou de la Figuera. Organised by Qâdar Produccions Culturals and with the collaboration of Espai Avinyó and the Barcelona City Council, the festival aims to increase the artists’ visibility by creating a platform for interaction and by interconnecting their experiences in our city.
