Pep Plaza presents “I are què?” (What now?) in the Club Capitol

The popular comedian and impersonator interprets more than sixty different characters in his latest performance

When Pep Guardiola resigned his job as Barcelona coach to move New York many were left wondering what Pep Plaza would do next. Famous for his impersonations of the football coach in the comedy-sports programme Crackòvia, Plaza begins his show by explaining to the audience that there is live after Guardiola, and the title of the show, I are què? (What now?), serves as a springboard for the comedian to reinvent himself professionally.

Pep Plaza interprets more than sixty different characters during the ninety minute duration of the show, including Guardiola himself, Eugenio, Quim Monzó, Joan Pera, Boris Izaguirre, Matías Prats, Albert Om and Jordi González. Politicians don’t escape easily either, and Plaza mutates into Artur Mas, Xavier Trias and Mariano Rajoy.

While the event is principally a solitary performance, the comedian is occasionally accompanied by Miquel Tejada on the piano to complement his impersonations of singers such as Lluís Llach, Dyango, Miguel Ríos, Joan Manuel Serrat or Elvis Presley. Constant interaction with the audience plays a fundamental part in the performance.
