The Offf Festival: insights into new trends in design

The mainstay of the festival is made up of workshops and talks given by experts in the field

From the 26th to the 28th of May, Barcelona’s Design Museum is set to host a new edition of a festival that has been going for 16 years now and which, faithful to its original purpose, is full of examples of the city’s creative design. The OFFF Festival fulfils the role of a large-scale international fair for the creative design sector and a showcase for new trends in graphic design, videoclips, photography, advertising, cinema, publishing art and other emerging formats in contemporary design.

Like always, the main part of the festival is made up of workshops, talks and lectures by some of the leading experts in the field. This year’s edition will be visited by creative designers from Aardman Animations, the studio behind the popular Wallace & Gromit. The presence of Carl Sprague, a prestigious designer who is known for his illustrations for films like Hotel Budapest and 12 Years a Salve has also been confirmed. Other confirmed speakers include Daniel Aristizábal,a designer who blends styles like Cubism, Dadaism and Futurism, and Somerset+Mills, a leading production company specialised in music, video, film and fashion.

Outside the main programme and open to anyone who wants to take part, the OFFF Fun Zone is an area with food trucks and large screens showing all of the activities at the festival.
