The second edition of the series will be held from the 7th to the 28th of February
Fundación Catalunya-La Pedrera will initiate the second edition of the Noves Escenes, Noves Mirades series on the 7th of February. This year’s programme boasts more performances and a new stage setting which emphasises consideration of the scenic creativity of the director.
Noves Escenes, Noves Mirades, aims to promote the vitality of the current scene from a pluralist perspective, providing opportunities for amalgams of movement, video, music, spoken word, objects, etc. Freedom and heterodoxy are not only countenanced, they are considered essential requisites, and proposals are limited to unique creations with a personal perspective.
Bearing this in mind, the five proposed stagings are Mi Gran Obra, by David Espinosa, making its first appearance in Barcelona; Bestiari de CaboSanRoque, an orchestra of clockwork animals; Fingir, by Colectivo 96º, a comic interpretation about, well, interpretation; De Milagros y Maravillas-Una conferencia optimista, by the Fundación Collado-Van Hoestenberghe, an extraordinary performance with live music, plant life and two atypical presenters and, finally, the personal world of Xavi Bové / Playground, presenting El rei de la soletat.
In the section dedicated to debate. We can highlight two round-table discussions dealing with the essence of drama. With Som una societat Fast Cult? (Are we a Fast Culture society?), creators of different generations – Joan Baixas, Àngels Margarit, Roger Bernat and Jorge Dutor – share their opinions on the role of creativity in the current context. The other event, titled Les fabrìques de creació (The creativity factories), is a presentation by the Barcelona project which includes some of the professionals involved, Llucià Homs, representing the organisation, Cristina Alonso, director of El Graner and, in the role of end user, Pere Faura.
