November 4th, 1 evening's entertainment = 1 year of school

The NGO Yamuna and TV production company El Terrat present the second edition of the benefit concert which funded the building of a school in Madagascar two years ago

Produced, directed and presented by Andreu Buenafuente, the Yamuna Gala presented its first edition two years ago on the 21st of November, 2011, with the objective of raising money to build a school in Madagascar. The success of the event led to construction of a centre with a capacity for 450 African children between the ages of 3 and 14.

This year’s edition of the concert is titled “1 nit màgica = 1 any d'escola” (1 evening's entertainment = 1 year of school) and the objective is to ensure continuation of the project for a minimum of one year and provide the students with one meal per day.

The event will be held on Monday the 4th of November beginning at 9 pm in the Barcelona Teatre Musical and will include performances by Estopa, M-Clan, Pastora, La Shica and Silvia Abril and appearances by Berto Romero, Pep Plaza and José Corbacho.

The NGO Yamuna was founded in the year 2000 to care for children and adolescents in India and Madagascar and its activities are focussed on two main causes: providing shelter, support and education for young people in unstable family situations in order that they may return with their families, and to provide support for marginalised women who have children in their care.

The Madagascar school project has become a reality thanks to collaboration between the NGO and the television production company El Terrat.
