Music on Sunday evenings at Montjuïc Castle
The concerts, in a variety of styles, will take place every Sunday evening in July and August.
If you want to hear some music in the cool of the evening in July and August at a historical site that affords excellent view of the city and the sea, make a date for this cycle of Sunday Evening Concerts at Montjuïc Castle. Admission to the site will be free from 3pm, though the music will not begin until 7pm, and once the music is over at around 9.30pm there will be a free shuttle bus service to Plaça Espanya.
The concerts will feature a variety of musical styles, though the accent will be on jazz and associated disciplines. The cycle will start on 1 July with the classical jazz of Womb Trio, followed a week later by Brazilian music with Sambala. The Mellow Sound, The Lazy Lies and highly personal covers by Charlie California will complete the month. In August, the castle will host appearance by Danae & Golo, Sara Terraza and Mercè de la Fuente, before coming to a close on 16 August with the gypsy jazz sounds of Scaramouche.
