Music and film come together in the IN-EDIT Festival

The 15th edition of the festival is due to start on 26 October.

IN-EDIT is a festival that specialises in music documentaries and is celebrating its 15th annual edition this year. Since the first edition in 2003, the concept has spread around the world with 46 editions in different countries screening a total of 750 documentaries.

IN-EDIT 2017 in Barcelona is scheduled to run from 26 October to 5 November and Aribau Club and Aribau Multicines will be hosting most of the screenings, alongside a number of the city’s civic centres and the CCCB contemporary culture centre. The festival is divided into different sections, including the International Official Selection, which includes the documentaries Blue for a Moment, I am Gagarin and The Allins; the National Scene section that features local productions, and Etnia Barcelona presents The Look, featuring films that share ‘a special and radically idiosyncratic vision’. Menawhile, Km 0 is a new section that aims to showcase up-close and personal stories, and IN-EDIT Shorts focuses on mini documentaries on music, especially productions by young talent.

In short, the festival has a packed programme, which is set to open on Thursday 26 October with Liberation Day, a documentary on a concert by Slovenian group Laibach in North Korea, making them the first band to ever play a gig in that country. The festival also features a host of parallel activities, including talks, conferences and concerts. A number of different ticket options are available.
