On the 20th of October in the Born Centre Cultural the Catalan Association of Social Volunteering (FCVS), with the collaboration of numerous other institutions, will celebrate the second edition of Marketplace, an event during which Barcelona will be designated the European Volunteering Capital 2014 and businesses and organisations will have the opportunity to get to know each other through a series of debates and activities designed for the purposes of collaboration and the interchange of ideas and experiences.

The event in the Born Centre Cultural will feature more than 70 stands and will serve as a platform from which volunteer agencies can both share ideas and analyse and promote their activities. The Espai Diàlegs (Dialog Space), located in the Sala Moragas, will host six debate forums focussing on Corporate Social Responsibility featuring speakers from the academic and business world and moderated by well-known journalists. The Espai Connecta (Connect Space), located in the central area of the venue, will focus on synergies among the various sectors, while the Espai Reflexiona (Reflect Space) will be dedicated to closed debates featuring a number of participating businesses.

The Espai Aprèn (Learn Space), on the other hand, will host two specific activities: a workshop dealing with the relationship between business and Third Sector organisations, and a solidarity “Pitching” in which six organisation will present their projects to representatives of businesses and public and private institutions.

Access to the venue, which will be open from 10 am to 8 pm, will be free, though due to the capacity of the venue, some of the activities and workshops will require prior inscription. For more information, please consult the Marketplace website.
