Hallo

The magical acrobatics of Martin Zimmermann at Mercat de les Flors

The Swiss clown is presenting his new show, Hallo, in four sole sessions

From Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 March, Martin Zimmermann will be on stage at Mercat de les Flors with Hallo, his first solo show following a career full of hit performances with Zimmermann & de Perrot. For Hallo, Zimmerman only has the help of playwright Sabine Geistlich.

Halfway between circus magic, contemporary dance and theatrical comedy, Hallo features a contortion artist in constant movement against an abstract background that reminds one of a large department store. An heir to the great pantomime king Marcel Marceau, Martin Zimmermann has constructed here a character who is reserved and phlegmatic, and who manages to elude disasters in the finest slapstick manner, harking back to the films of Jacques Tati, Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

In parallel to the four shows scheduled, Mercat de les Flors and La Central del Circ is also staging, on 3 and 4 March, Formes curtes, by Viso&Rachel and Cirque Désolé/Julieta Martín in the foyer of the theatre half an hour before show time. At 7pm on Saturday 4 March there will also be a round table discussion titled Velles i noves hibridacions de l’art del circ in Sala PB.

Additional information is available from the Mercat de les Flors website.
