Lluís Homar is back at TNC with 'El professor Bernhardi'

Xavier Albertí is directing this text by Arthur Schnitzler

He’s one of the brightest creative talents on the billboard. Last season he dazzled us with well-rounded works like  a monologue version of Terra baixa and L'art de la comèdia atTNC. Now Lluís Homar is back at the same venue to star in a major acting focused work that has never been performed before in Catalonia.

El professor Bernhardi tells the story of a strange university hospital in which a complicated decision taken by a doctor leads to a series of unforeseeable consequences. All the political and religious institutions start to fall apart and oblige all of the protagonists to take a stand. This is an iconic text that has become a classic and that shook up the institutions of its time. It’s adapted from the 1912 text that was banned for many years in Austria.

Apart from Lluís Homar, the cast includes leading Catalan actors from diverse generations like Manel Barceló, Joel Joan, Pep Cruz, Joan Negrié, Oriol Genís, Jacop Torres and Albert Pérez. This staging will be directed by the TNC house director Xavier Albertí with a version of the texts written by Feliu Formosa.
