The Les Corts district hosts Barcelona Beatles Weekend

From the 26th to the 28th of June various venues and locations around the Les Corts district of Barcelona will play host to Barcelona Beatles Weekend, a multi-disciplinary celebration that will include concerts and other cultural and entertainment events and which has been programmed in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Beatles to the city

The concert programme will include bands the likes of Flaming Skaters, Beatlemania and The Thursdays Band, as well as continuous concerts in the Parc de la Berrida with special appearances by, among others, Santi Carulla and Leslie. In parallel to the concerts the park will play host to open-air markets, a gathering of food-trucks, an artisanal beer fair and a meeting of classic cars from the 60s that will include a parade around the district's streets.

Over the course of the weekend the district will also host games, magic performances, exhibitions, conferences and a quiz focussing on the career of the legendary Liverpool quartet. Another featured event, on this occasion outside the Les Corts district, is the gala dinner that has been programmed for Friday the 26th in the Hotel Avenida Palace, with a performance by Xaints, a band who offer Catalan versions of the Beatles' songs, and a special appearance by Pete Best as guest of honour.
