Karaoke cinema with “Moulin Rouge” and “This Is It”

As part of the “Sing-Along” programme, the Aribau Multicines will screen the popular Baz Luhrmann film and the Michael Jackson documentary on the 14th and 21st of March respectively

Following the success of previous screenings of musicals such as Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Cabaret, the entertainer-hosted karaoke cinema programme organised by Sing-Along continues on Saturday nights in the Sala 5 of the Aribau Multicines.

The upcoming musicals in the programme are Moulin Rouge on the 14th of March and the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It on the 21st. The films will be shown in their original, non-dubbed version with subtitled songs in karaoke format with the audience singing and dancing alongside the presenters.

Originally screened in 2001, Moulin Rouge is one of Australian film maker Baz Luhrmann’s most popular films. Starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, the film is set in the bohemian Paris of 1900 and features a potpourri of well-known pop songs by David Bowie and Madonna.

For its part, Kenny Ortega’s documentary This Is It tells of the final days in the life of Michael Jackson and offers an insight into the rehearsals for the concerts that were to be the crowning landmarks in the career of the North American artist. The film includes the majority of the King of Pop’s greatest hits.
