Relax with jazz in the evenings at Montjuïc Castle

A new edition of the July Evenings cycle brings four modern, urban jazz concerts to help you stand better the summer heat

In July, Montjuïc Castle is set to become a refuge for those tired of the summer heat. And since July looks like it’s going to be hot, what better way to spend two hours on a Sunday evening than at the July Evenings cycle at the castle, which is set high up on a hill next to the sea. It’s also a great plan if you like jazz, especially more modern, urban styles.

Four concerts have already been confirmed. The first is scheduled for Sunday 2 July and features In The Mood, a female trio who play subtle, minimalistic jazz with hints of bossa nova and electronic chill out tones. They will be followed, on Sunday 9,  by Pixie Dixie, a formation of virtuosos whose elastic musical language creates a connection between jazz and the band’s African origins. On 16 July it’s time for Laia Badrenes and her project Ànima Groovera playing soul and hip hop in Catalan. And finally on Sunday 23, the cycle will come to an end with the duo Diana & Joel Project, whose music leans more to pop and Brazilian music.

Additional information is available on the Montjuïc Castle website. Access is completely free.
