It’s time for Primavera Sound 2016!
Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Tame Impala and The Last Shadow Puppets are among this year’s highlights.
Primavera Sound is a music festival that started in 2001 in the Poble Espanyol and has been held beside the sea in Parc del Fòrum since 2005. The nature of the festival (an urban event that is integrated in the city) and the heterogeneous nature of the bill has made Primavera Sound a meeting place for musicians and spectators and one of the most important cultural events in Barcelona.
Groups like Pixies, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, The National, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Portishead, Pet Shop Boys, Pavement, Echo & The Bunnymen, Lou Reed, My Bloody Valentine, El-P, Pulp and Patti Smith have all appeared at Primavera Sound, and this year looks like being one to remember thanks to the presence of Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Tame Impala, The Last Shadow Puppets, Sigur Rós and Brian Wilson performng 'Pet Sounds'. Primavera Sound 2016 is scheduled to take place at the Fòrum from Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th of June, though most of the free shows are set to take place in other venues and on other dates.
