Casa Batlló, in Passeig de Gràcia, was designed by Antoni Gaudí

It’s snowing inside Casa Batlló!

This iconic building on Passeig de Gràcia is offering a spectacular image for the Christmas season

Antoni Gaudí broke a lot of artistic rules during his own era, but he probably never imagined that it would one day be snowing inside one of his buildings. But, thanks to technology, that is just what is going to happen from 19 December to 19 January at Casa Batlló making for a Christmas spectacle that’s sure to leave passers-by perplexed while they’re making their way along Passeig de Gràcia.

And it’s literally going to snow inside Casa Batlló, while a sheet of snow will cover the main façade. To round things off, an enormous Christmas tree will be installed in the building’s Modernist Patio. The last time the building dressed up like this was on Sant Jordi’s Day, when its façade was covered in roses. That image went viral on social media.

During the Christmas season, Casa Batlló will donate a percentage of the tickets sold to a project promoting training and values organised by Fundació Aldees Infantils SOS Catalunya, which aims to enable vulnerable children to learn to have confidence in their learning ability and to develop their creativity, physical skills and strategies to find solutions, thereby improving their self-esteem.
