The series features six films screened on Thursday evenings.

For the seventh consecutive year, Sant Sebastià beach in La Barceloneta will be hosting the screening of a series of avant-garde and alternative films for free in the Free Cinema on the Beach cycle. This year’s edition will bring us six films that in recent years have captivated viewers in one way or another. On 28 June we will be able to see Una mujer fantástica by Chilean director Sebastián Lelio, followed by the Israeli film People That Are Not Me by Hadas Ben Aroya. 12 July sees the screening of Estiu 1993 by Catalan director Carla Simón, and on 19 July it’ll be time for the Brazilian title O menino e o mundo by Alé Abreu, which will be the family session in the cycle. 26 July will see the screening of the US director Geremy Jasper’s Patti Cake$, and to wind things up, on 2 August, the final movie to be screened will be chosen by the public through the event website. All films will be screened in original version with subtitles in Spanish and in English for those that are in Spanish or Catalan.

All the films will be screened on Sant Sebastià beach at 9pm and will be preceded by a short film selected from the Filmets Badalona Film Festival.
