The Barcelona Municipal Band to perform free concerts all over the city

The band will play a series of free concerts in different neighbourhoods and iconic places in the city.

The Barcelona Municipal Band, which was created in 1886 by Barcelona City Council, is made up of almost 50 musicians, based at l'Auditori concert hall and led by the conductor Salvador Brotons. The objective of the formation has always been to take music, especially by Catalan composers, to the people and, in line with this mission, they have planned a series of performances which, under the title 'Concerts in the City 2018', will take place in Barcelona neighbourhoods like Tres Torres, Poble Sec and later Sants and Poblenou, as well as in events like the Music in the Parks cycle and at iconic locations in the city such as Plaça Reial and the Sant Pau Catalan Modernist Architectural Ensemble.

The performances in this series, which offer the chance to get to know Catalan music in the open air or in iconic locations in Barcelona, are free of charge, though some do require registration.
