First names for BAM and Mercè Música 2016

BAM and Mercè Música will be held at different venues throughout Barcelona from 22 to 25 September.

The names were revealed today of some of the groups taking part in the Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) and Mercè Música programme, which will form part of the Mercè celebrations on 22, 23, 24 and 25 September.

The first performers to be confirmed for BAM, which this year reaches its 24th edition, are: British singer-songwriter Lloyd Cole the collaboration between Congolese band Konono No.1 and Batida, French singer Jeanne Added, the unique Blues sound of the young group Imarhan, Australian band The Goon Sax, French group MHD and Isaac Ulam.

During Mercè Música audiences can enjoy performances from La Gran Pegatina, as well as one of Africa's most prestigious and original voices, Baaba Maal. During the Mercè, there will also be performances from Lebanese singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Bachar Mar-Khalifé and, as always, an evening devoted to Flamenco, this year with Kiko Veneno, La Banda del Retumbe and El Cuarteto Bético de Cuerdas. Besides this, La Raíz will be presenting their new album Entre poetas y presos and the Original Jazz Orquestra, Taller de Músics will be accompanying Big Mama Montse.
