Film & Cook, on the 22nd and 23rd of November

The Film and Gastronomy Festival serves up its 4th edition in the Aribau Club cinemas

For the 4th year running Barcelona will host a new edition of Film & Cook, a film festival focussing on food. The festival, which will take place in the Aribau Club cinemas on the 22nd and 23rd of November, will unite under one roof major figures from the culinary panorama and the best audio-visual works dealing with the subject of gastronomy. As with previous editions, screenings will be accompanied by guest chefs who will delight audiences with Show Cookings, wine pairings and presentations. Highlights among the professionals invited to this year’s edition of Film & Cook include such illustrious Michelin-star-holders as Ricardo Sanz, Marcos Morán, Paco Pérez and David Muñoz.

The films selected for this year’s festival include the Catalan co-production The Food Guide to Love, a romantic comedy set in Dublin, and the Catalan Cuinant a low budget film about a couple who find themselves obliged to prepare a dinner for some very special guests, while more international films include highlights such as My Name is Salt, a portrayal of the day-to-day life of a family in an enormous salt mine in India, Seeds of Time, which deals with one of the keys to our survival, seeds, and The Great Chicken Wing Hunt, the entertaining adventures of a journalist on his quest to find the world’s best chicken wing.

The evening “film and cocktail” sessions will include three emblematic films, A Clockwork Orange, Goodfellas and The Shining as well as the recent Nick Cave-scripted Lawless, which has yet to be released on our shores. In each of these sessions, specialists will offer cocktails inspired by each of the respective films. This year’s guest country is Mexico, which will have a special section in the programme. Another noteworthy novelty this year is the inclusion of a parallel activity entitled Market & Taste, a travelling market where gourmet products may be tasted as well as purchased.

Tickets for Film & Cook, which will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of November in the Aribau Club cinemas, are priced from 5 to 8 €, with season ticket options by day and theatre at 25 €. More information on prices, schedules and content is available here.
