FESTIHU 2014

The 4th edition of the Barcelona Summer Comedy Festival will take place up until the end of August in the Teatreneu and Aquitània theatres and feature Reugenio, Ignatius Farray and Carlitos, among others

Up until the 31st of August the Teatreneu Group presents FESTIHU 2014, the Festival d’Estiu d’Humor, or Summer Comedy Festival, which reaches its 4th edition this year, consolidating it as the city’s reference comedy festival and an event open to all performing arts disciplines including monologues, theatre and magic, among others.

FESTIHU includes more than fifteen productions divided between the Aquitània Theatre and the Teatreneu. Of particular note among this year’s productions are the new shows by Reugenio, a reinterpretation of Eugenio’s gags designed to increase audience participation, and the radical, acerbic monologues of Ignatius Farray.

The festival also features the new production by comedian Toni Cruz entitled An evening with Tom Cruise and that of popular singer-songwriter comedian Carlitos. Other featured performers include Andrés Torres, who reflects on the mid-life crisis in Diary of a 40-year-old, María Eugenia Casanova who, with Agència Matrimonial: 7 d’Amor (Marriage Agency: Love Set), adopts the roles of a series of characters who are in search of a partner, and The Big Van Theory, a group of scientists who attempt to explain scientific theories to the audience using comic monologues.

The festival also includes improvisational performances, such as Improshow and Impro Fighters Revolution, comedy magic with The world’s best magician... according to my mother, featuring Issac Jurado, and Don’t touch my magic... powders, by Jordi Meca and Oscar Bayona.

FESTIHU 2014 will take place in the Aquitània Theatre and the Teatreneu up until the 31st of August and performance times and ticket prices may be consulted here.
