'Deconstructing the Model Prison'

Deconstructing the Model Prison at the Museum of the History of Catalonia

The photographs of Duaita Prats tell the story of the closure of the prison, which happened a year ago.

As many of you will remember, a year ago the Generalitat de Catalunya handed over the keys to the former La Model prison to Barcelona City Council. Since then it has been open for occasional visits by the public. The Museum of the History of Catalonia wishes to pay tribute to this fact with 'Deconstructing the Model Prison', an exhibition that tells the story of the last days of the prison based on the images taken by photographer Duaita Prats over the course of three visits in 2017. The photographs record a space that contains an intense mix of drama and hope, history and mystery, and art and feelings.

'Deconstructing the Model' can be seen from Tuesday to Sunday, from 14 December to 17 February, bringing visitors closer to a world that is probably unknown to them.

Admission to the exhibition is free. Additional information is available at the following link.
