The artistic freedom of Lita Cabellut at Fundació Vila Casas

The exhibition 'Retrospective' brings together her works from the last decade.

Born in Sarinyena, Huesca in 1961, trained in Barcelona and based in The Hague, Lita Cabellut is an artist whose work is characterised by her aim to go beyond the traditional limitations of painting. From 5 October, the Fundació Vila Casas is hosting a comprehensive sample of her recent work under the title Retrospective. The exhibition is scheduled to run until 27 May 2018.

Cabellut is a self-declared admirer of classical painters like Rembrandt, Goya, Ribera and Velázquez, though she adds to their influence an impulsive, instinctive element. Her colours are intense and temperamental, with a studied palette that she uses on large scale canvases. Oil is her preferred medium, though many of her works are done using the fresco technique.

Painter, sculptor, photographer and poet, Lita Cabellut argues for the universality of art and the description of the human condition. Additional information is available at the following link.
