European grants for businesses and entrepreneurs who bet on new technologies
Barcelona entrepreneurs and developers discovered the European funding programs and advice for projects that use technologies FIWARE; they also had the opportunity to participate in free workshops on FiContent technology platforms.
Last Friday Design Hub held a session about the funding opportunities and technical training on "Media & Content" technologies organized Direcció de Creativitat I Innovació and i2Cat Foundation. The main purpose of this kind of events is to help entrepreneurs from Barcelona to meet funding opportunities and innovative technologies that are available to carry out their projects.
The conference began with the presentation of some of Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació projects such as Apps & Culture competition which is already preparing a new edition soon, the Canòdrom Parc de Recerca Creativa wich will open its doors this year or Barcelona Lab.
Then we got the opportunity to know 5 of the 16 companies in the European FIWARE accelerator program, which aims to encourage small businesses and entrepreneurs working on creating projects using these technologies. Accelerators presented during the conference were CreatiFI, FIC3, EuropeanPioneers, IMpaCT, FABulous, all with very comprehensive programs that have already helped many startups in the development of their projects and will open new calls for funding and advice new projects soon. Finally the conference attendees participated in various training sessions led by FiContent own developers structured in three technological platforms on three FiContent technology platforms:
Social Connected TV: services for connected devices that complement the experience of television, and which can be used in other scenarios.
Social City Service: set of technologies that allow generating, share and combine content offering new services and mobility experiences in cities.
Pervasive Gaming: innovation platform that combines Internet and Augmented Reality to create immersive environment and new gaming experiences.
