The music festival Guitar BCN will celebrate its 26th edition from the 13th of February to the 4th of June in various venues in and around Barcelona. This year’s extensive and, as always, eclectic programme will begin in the Palau de la Música Catalana with a performance by Estrella Morente accompanied on the guitar by Niño Josele in which they will present their first joint recording, Amar en paz (Love in peace), a record which fuses flamenco with Brazilian sounds in a musical love letter to South America’s largest country. The concert will take place on the 13th of February, beginning at 9 pm.

The festival’s second concert will feature the upcoming talent of James Vincent McMorrow on the 18th of February in the BARTS. The Irish singer-songwriter, who has recently garnered acclaim for the song “Glacier”, included in the advertisement for the 2014 Christmas Lottery, will present his latest release, Post Tropical, with which he has significantly extended his fan base on the basis of songs tinged with poetic, soulful sounds and synthesised electronic backing tracks.

Guitar BCN will continue up until the beginning of June with performances by local and international bands and solo artists the likes of Jolie Holland, Jorge Drexler, Franco Battiato, Wyoming y Los Insolventes, Núria Graham, Christina Rosenvinge, Els Catarres, La Unión, Joan Miquel Oliver, Dorian, Micah P. Hinson, Noa and Oques Grasses, among others.
