The XII International Festival of Artistic Recycling of Catalonia opens its doors to the public at the CCCB Area of December 18, 2015 to January 3, 2016
Drap-Art'15. Festival Internacional de Reciclatge Artístic de Catalunya explores the artistic vanguard from awareness of the lack of resources, trying to heal the society giving waste, victims of unbridled consumerism, a second life.
The artistic recycling festival opens on December 17 and is based in the CCCB and surroundings. Drap-Art’15will be open from December 18 2015 to January 3, 2016, and will concentrate its activities and the fair during the weekends of Christmas (18, 19 and December 20) and 'Reyes' (the 2nd and 3rd of January).
Drap-Art'15 is developed in eight modalities that approach us to creative recycling: group exhibitions of art and design objects made from recycled materials, interventions in public space, a space for reflection, the traditional art and design market, participatory workshops, performances, audiovisuals and environmental cinema.
In order to maintain a balance between national and international artists, and between newcomers and established artists, and with the idea of promoting the exchange between countries and generations, the festival includes the participation of guest artists in collaboration with institutions, galleries and independent curators specialized. They will join a large and diverse group of more than 150 artists, musicians, workshop facilitators, designers, speakers and filmmakers selected in open call.
As a special incentive, Drap-Art'15 gives for the seventh consecutive year the Residu'Art Prize, awarded by the HERA group in the categories "emerging artist" and "professional artist".
