“Dancing” guided tours to “Arts of movement” exhibition

Toni Jodar tells you about the exhibition through his life experiences.

Arts of movement: dance in Catalonia (1966-2012)", that you can visit until January 26th in Arts Santa Mònica, is an exhibition about the memory of the ephemeral art of dancing in Catalonia since 1966, all of which highlighting the presence of the body, the tool with which this art is carried out: the feet play the role of the first steps, the trunk is the contemporary matrix of dance in our country, the faces embody the dancers and the hands are a metaphor for the fitting of arts.

The heart, on the other hand, is the audiovisual installation “In body present” by filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta, where 7 bodies of the choreographers appear before the visitors without music, black and white and each one with their own features. They are Cesc Gelabert, Àngels Margarit, Maria Muñoz, Sol Picó, Andrés Corchero, Thomas Noone and Marta Carrasco, who represent the lines of development of dance in the last 4 decades.

You can enjoy the exhibition accompanied by Toni Jodar, one of the most recognised dance professionals in Catalonia, on January 17th and 24th at 19 h. These visits have the added value of the fact that Jodar can talk about his first-hand experiences related to what you can see in “Arts of movement”.
