Cuentos Cruentos (Twisted Tales) in Teatre Gaudí

This production can be seen from the 18th of January to the 10th of February, and offers a modern, irreverent take on traditional tales

The Calánime Theatre Company, in conjunction with the V.O. String Quartet, present Cuentos Cruentos (Twisted Tales) in the main hall of the Teatre Gaudí, a production based on the book of the same name by writer Dino Lanti, edited by Thule, 2008. The show consists of three actors and four musicians performing staged versions of stories inspired by popular fables and limericks but which have been adapted and situated in all too familiar urban scenarios.

With influences from Edward Gorey, Tim Burton and Stephen Sondheim, and under the direction of Hugo Guzmán, the personalities who appear in this audacious, original, irresistible show do not by any means live fairytale lives.  The Seven Dwarfs are on the dole, The Three Little Pigs can’t find a decent home to live in, Alice gets lost in Wonderland after taking a pill and Cinderella is obese and can’t afford glass slippers …

Barcelona Cultura and the Teatre Gaudí are offering the possibility of purchasing two tickets for just 20€ for the show on Friday, February 1st, at 10.30 pm, just click here.
