The Cruïlla Festival: now in Autumn too

The festival, which is set to take place in several different venues, will feature Caravan Palace, Andrew Bird and Crystal Fighters, among others

The Cruïlla Festival, which takes place every July in the Fòrum complex, is already a classic fixture on the city’s agenda and attracts thousands of concert-goers with its varied and complete programme of performances. And the festival is now premiering an autumn edition - Cruïlla de Tardor. The differences with respect to its summer counterpart are clear: the concerts will take place in a variety of venues and the programme runs from 15 October to 7 December rather than being concentrated in one sole weekend. Despite these differences, the festival organisers hope that the autumn edition retains all the atmosphere and spirit of its summertime stablemate.

There are six concert on the programme. The first took place at Sala Apolo on 15 October and featured Puerto Rican singer Ile while Andrew Bird, the American singer-songwriter and violinist is set to appear at Sala Barts on 4 November. Four days later, it will be the turn of the young female rapper and poet Kate Tempest, who will be performing at Sala Apolo. The band La Sra. Tomasa will be taking their danceable music to Salamandra on 12 November. On 1 December, Caravan Palace, a French band playing electro swing will be appearing at Razzmatazz. This first autumn edition of the Cruïlla de Tardor Festival will come to a close with Crystal Fighter at Sant Jordi Club, with a set of electronic pop and a big closing party.
