Snow at Casa Batlló

Snow and solidarity at Casa Batlló

This Gaudí-designed building will host a visual effects show over the Christmas season.

It doesn't snow that often in Barcelona, and even less so inside the city's buildings! But that's exactly what you can expect to see at Casa Batlló until 7 January – and all thanks to the latest technology. This Antoni Gaudí designed building will host a display that uses special effects to create the illusion of massive snowfall, while on the façade there will be a Christmas snow and light show every half an hour from 5.30pm on. In short, it's an impressive setting that will surely impress both passers-by and those who come to visit the building.

This event also has an element of solidarity, since a percentage of the revenues generated by the sale of tickets during the Christmas holidays will be given to the Catalan UNICEF Committee. Also, on Thursday 4 January there will be a concert on the Noble Floor of Casa Batlló, also in solidarity with UNICEF. The name of the artist or artists is, for now, a secret. Of course, the capacity of the venue is only for one hundred people, so if you wish to attend, sign up as soon as possible on the Sofar Sounds Barcelona website.

Casa Batlló is one of the architectural gems designed by Gaudí in Barcelona, and receives about one million visits every year. For more information, check the following link.
