“Canciones Inesperadas” (Unexpected Songs), by Daniel Anglès and Miquel Tejada

The Círcol Maldà presents five small-format performances from the 15th to the 18th of January

Actor, director and singer Daniel Anglès and pianist Miquel Tejada will offer five small-format concerts in the Círcol Maldà from the 15th to the 18th of January, during which they will interpret songs from a number of different musical genres, focussing on musical theatre.

The project entitled Cançons Inesperades (Unexpected Songs) is the result of the connection that the two forged during the recording of “Torna a començar de nou”, one of the songs included in the soundtrack album for the musical Fràgil. On the basis of this collaboration, the complicity between the two artists evolved to the point where they decided to travel to New York to attend first-hand a number of Broadway musicals.

Miquel Tejada began studying piano at four years old and musical composition at eighteen. Three years later he founded his own production company and has composed soundtracks for animated television series, documentaries and advertisements.

The career of Daniel Anglès has been based around musical theatre and during 2014 he has carried out the task of resident director of Les Miserables in Spain and has directed the production Gran Gala Stage: 15 years of musicals. He is director and founder of the Barcelona music school, AULES, as well as the production company El Musical Més Petit. He will present his debut recording, Punto de Rocío, this coming spring.
