Seu del Teatre Lliure a Montjuïc, on es farà la festa

'Camí de festa', the first act for the 40th anniversary of Teatre Lliure

Four hours of workshops and performances at multiple venues on Montjuïc and Plaça de Margarida Xirgu

On 2 December 1976 Teatre Lliure raised the curtain for the first time with a performance of Camí de nit, 1854. This year therefore sees the 40th anniversary of an iconic Catalan institution that has brought dozens of actors to public attention and has won applause from thousands of audiences.

The first event in the celebration is scheduled for 10 September, when various theatre venues on Montjuïc and Plaça de Margarita Xirgu are set to host four hours of performances designed by Joan Font, director of the company Comediants. Like all of his productions, these are better seen that explained, but what we can advance is that in a play on words with the title of Teatre Lliure’s first staged play, the title of these events is Camí de festa and they will include workshops, mazes, human size chess games, makeup areas, filmmaking spaces and live music, with the celebrations ending with a very special kind of cake.

The fun is set to begin at 4pm and will run un till 8pm. All of the events are free and open to everyone.
