"Bee Invasion" an augmented reality game for smart glasses, tablets and mobile

The app, developed by Funky Whale Games, is one of the projects selected by the program CreatiFI

"Bee Invasion" is one of the most innovative games by the Funky Whales Games company and was one of those selected for the CreatiFI program, led by the Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació de l'Institut de Cultura de Barcelona. It’s a "shooter" game for mobile phones, tablets and augmented reality devices, where the player is immersed in the middle of bee invasion. The game comprises a virtual 360 degrees dome around the player and on which the bees move randomly. The goal is to shoot the bees before they build a nest on the eyes of the player that would end up blocking his view.

"Bee Invasion" is a very immersive game, especially in augmented reality devices, and offers a sensation never before experienced by the player. Is a frantic, humorous game to play and compete with your friends”, explains Antonio Rabanera, CEO of Funky Whale Games, who states that in future subsequent versions they will add new weapons, more bees, bosses and power-ups "to make it even more fun." Currently, Funky Whale Games has published various versions of "Bee Invasion" for Google Glass and Epson Moverio, which are already available for download. Moreover, the company has just completed iOS and Android versions, which were presented at the last evaluation of CreatiFI in late August.

"Funky Games Whale existed since a year ago and in fact we were looking for a business accelerator to give a boost to our project. Just when we thought of adding to our games new functionalities, we stumbled into the FI-Ware technology and thought it might be a good idea. So we decided to implement it in our games and we got into CreatiFI." explains Rabanera. "We are very happy with this program because it has allowed us to get extra funding, financial advice, business development and legal aspects consulting," says the CEO of Funky Whale Games.
