Barcelona celebrates World Dance Day

The Catalan Professional Dance Association is organising the main dancing event in Plaça Salvador Seguï on the 29th of April.

Like every year, Barcelona is celebrating UNESCO International Dance Day, on the 29th of April, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre (29th April 1727), who is considered to be the father of modern ballet.

The Catalan Professional Dance Association is responsible for organising the multiple activities scheduled, including a participative event in Plaça Seguí at 9pm in which everyone is invited to dance and discover the benefits that this activity has for the body and, especially, one’s mood.

In charge of events is Mónica Muntaner, who will present her solo act with audiovisual support Abans i després de ballar, which will end with everyone being invited to get up and dance. You can get your name down to be photographed before and after getting up on the stage.

Other dance-related activities are scheduled to take place at Casa dels Entremesos (open rehearsal at 8.30pm), and at tragantDansa, (Reig i Bonet 23 Baixos), as well as events at Plaça del Poeta Boscà, Espai jove la Fontana andCentre Cívic Cotxeres de Borrell.
