The 16th of December is Circus Night

The Circ Raluy big top will host the fifth Zirkòlika Awards Gala featuring live music and performances

For the fifth year running Barcelona presents Circus Night. Organised by the circus arts organisation Zirkòlika and compered by Vicent Llorca, who is also responsible for the homonymous magazine, the gala evening in honour of the best of circus-oriented proposals either originating in Catalonia or co-produced by Catalan entities will take place in the Circ Raluy big top on the evening of Tuesday the 16th of December.

This year’s event will be feature popular clown Leandre and the La Tal Company, acrobat Quim Girón, from Animal Religion, tight-rope walker Joel Martí, of Circo Afilado, and magician Odoroff, who will present a performance directed by Xavier Erra, winner of the Best Director Award in the 2013 Zirkòlika Awards. Live music will be provided by Sakapatú.

This year’s performance awards have been divided into ten categories, two of which are novelties in this edition: the Best Clown Act and the BBVA Zirkòlika Award, which will be presented to the best Catalan artist or company and will consist of a tour of four performances in four different cities.

As with every year, and following a series of performances and the presentation of the awards, which will last about two hours, the audience will be treated to an additional combined performance featuring all the attendant artists.

Tickets for Circus Night, which will take place in the Circ Raluy tent on Tuesday the 16th of December beginning at 8 pm, are priced from 15 to 50 € and may be acquired here.
