Barcelona City Council, through the Institute of Culture (ICUB), has opened four calls for application for grants: for creative spaces, bookshops and cinemas; for live music establishments; for experimentation and innovation projects; and for the refurbishment of athenaeums. The application period is open from 27 June to 18 July at 3 pm.

Grants for investments in private creative spaces, bookshops and cinemas

Aimed at financing projects aimed at refurbishing, modernising and providing technical equipment for private spaces for artistic and cultural creation, experimentation, dissemination and exhibition, living culture spaces, bookshops and cinemas, which carry out their activity in the city of Barcelona.

There are the following types of call for proposals:

A. Independent spaces for artistic and cultural creation, experimentation, dissemination and exhibition.
B. Spaces for living culture.
C. Bookshops.
D. Cinemas with 7 or fewer screens.

Grants for investments in live music venues

Aimed at financing projects aimed at carrying out acoustic impact studies, installing sound level limiters-recorders, refurbishing and providing technical equipment for live music establishments in the city of Barcelona.

There are the following types of call for proposals:

A. Small venues. Capacity for less than 150 people.
B. Medium and large format spaces. Seating capacity equal to or greater than 150 people.

Grants for ICT investments in experimentation and innovation projects

Aimed at ICT projects exploring digital creativity, new languages and new methodologies in the fields of new media; virtual, augmented and mixed reality, and technologies for learning.

There are the following types of call for proposals:

A. New media.
B. Virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR, AM and MR).
C. Technologies for learning.

Grants for investments in the rehabilitation of athenaeums and for the provision of technical equipment

Aimed at the refurbishment of theatrical exhibition facilities, auditoriums or similar association-based facilities in the city of Barcelona and their technical equipment..
