Screenings on the Betevé offices, part of "The Festival of Light and Fire"

As you know, each year the Mercè expands out to a lot more of the city’s districts and this year it has reached the top part of Poblenou, not far from Plaça de les Glòries. It’s home to the offices of Barcelona Televisió, the municipal television channel that occupies a modern building with a perfect façade... for screening festival activities and hosting an activity that’s part cinema, part video game.

This year the channel has transformed its  offices into a big television screen and, to begin with, invites you to watch as it broadcasts the screenings on the façade of Barcelona City Hall which will première on Friday, 22 September at 8.30 pm.

After the recorded broadcast (at 9.30 pm), a film in English entitled Late Shift will be broadcast. Pay attention as this film is unlike any others you’ll have seen, as it’s interactive and you the viewer can decide part of the plot. Just download an app before the screening and give your opinion using your smartphone. Play along with other viewers to decide the situations the protagonist finds themselves in at any given moment, an activity that promises to be a fun interactive group experience tailor-made by a dynamic and participative audience..

Remember that you can also follow Betevé’s participation in Barcelona’s Festa Major on your television at home, where you’ll see recorded broadcasts of some of the festival events: from the Proclamation to the ceremonial start to the festival and the mapping on Plaça de Sant Jaume (Friday 22 September), the guest human towers day (Saturday 23 September) and finishing with the local human towers day (Sunday 24 September).

From Friday 22 to Saturday 23 September

Friday and Saturday at 9.30 pm Recorded broadcast of the mapping on the façade of Barcelona City Hall
