"Pega Monstro" concert, part of "BAM - Barcelona Acció Musical"

Pega Monstro (Portugal / punk pop, dream pop)

The ‘pega monstro’ (‘monster catcher’ in Portuguese) was the Portuguese version of ‘sticky hand’: a sticky and stretchy toy that you threw at your unlucky target to stick to it. With this nostalgic name, sisters Julia and Maria Reis, born and bred in Lisbon, made their project known, a vocal duet – both sing, which they do in unison or in harmony – with guitar and drums that has been classed as a hybrid between punk-pop and dream-pop. Co-founders of the Cafetra Records label, created to document the “garage” scene in Portugal, they’re showcasing their third album, Casa de Cima (2016). They’re performing as part de of the Portugal Alive evening at the festival, part of BAM.
